Quick thought

What exactly is it that humans are building?

Some useful stuff, but I would agree that it's far too much stuff just designed to help us ignore the side effects of the way we build in the first place, if that's what you're getting at.

Just thought that your thought was worth having someone comment on it.

From what I understand, this is a side effect of the american dream. Constantly trying to be richer and having more than your neighbor instead of finding a balance with the surroundings. There are finite resources on the planet and the balance is being upset. Hopefully our generation is the one that comes to realize this and starts chasing another dream. Which dream? Spiritual enlightenement? Musical enlightenement? There are many options!! I find it sad that we can't increase our knowledge of science without using that knowledge to rape the world.

There's a book out, something like the "The European Dream" I think it's called, that talks about the dieing down of the American Dream. Might be worth checking out.

The American Dream is simply not possible for any prolonged period of time. As you said, much of the knowledge we gain is used to further the deterioration of our planet, as well as widen the gap between people of different classes. sooner or later people are going to have to wake up and realize that things are going to have to change if we hope to make it as a people...
