Old friends?
Often when i meet old friends, i am amazed that they still talk to me like i'm the same person i was 4 years ago. Just because they still have pretty much the same beliefs expectations from life as they did several years ago doesn't mean i haven't changed. I am a dynamic person. I ask questions, i find answer. I ask the same question again and find a different answer. Sometimes i feel like a different race of human.

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's like the last time you saw someone you get frozen in time in their minds, and it's like some sort of safety blanket to assume you're never going to change from how you were when you saw them all the time.
hmmm yeah...
all my high school friends were shocked to find out i party, i drink, i smoke, and i'm not a virgin...
i'm sure many of them don't know yet.
Don't get contemptuous now Lou, like it or not we're all a part of the same race. Furthermore, it's not like who you were doesn't have a lot to do with who you are; a lot of old friends probably still know you a lot better than the people who know you now.
That being said, yeah I see your point.
I realize i share pretty much all my DNA with all humans. In high school, especially a small one like i attended, you don't get to pick and choose friends. After graduation, I realized that i didn't have that much in common with many of my "best friends" in high school.
that's why you go to university, and meet new awesome friends from all over the world. (i.e. me. lol)
weapon_o has a good point there... but i also know that there are people now that know me much better than many of the friends i grew up with... it seems that people from small towns are especially affected by this phenomenon. when you get out and face a whole new spectrum of thought and opinions, its intersting how far you can fall away from your old way of being. as Louis put it:
"I am a dynamic person"
